Have you been making an effort tofind some duvet covers on sale then you probably well shocked to find out about how expensive the process can be. Well the next best option is to just do it yourself. Below I share a few insights on how you can do this.
For a first timer making them may be a bit of a struggle and probably not the best quality like duvet cover set queen sizes you find in retail shops but the exercise can really be rewarding and self filling. One of the major difficulties with making one on your own is when it comes to taking care of the place where the sheets are inserted. You may have a challenge in closing off the top where you have your closures.
The best way to sort this out is by being well organised. Start by finding all the sheets you will need. Go for a material that you absolutely adore – For instance if you interested in a microsuede duvet cover then it’s best you get the matching material. Pin the side and the bottom before moving on to the top section. Then after you can also think about how to fold the top sides.
Now, you will have to make buttonholes at the top, right where the two sheet ends join together, and use buttons to close. You do have an option to use ribbons if you love them. You can fold the sheet about 12 inches down on one side, at the top if it is longer than the quilt. You will then need to stitch it up on the sides such that it looks like an envelope closure.
As for the closure, you can choose a snap take, zipper or Velcro, depending on what suites you best. My best option is nylon zippers. This is because they make it easy for me to dress up the bed.
